Q: How does acupuncture work?

A: Modern western medicine cannot yet explain exactly how acupuncture works, but ancient Chinese theories explain how acupuncture can adjust and regulate the flow of Qi in the body.

Q: Is acupuncture safe?

A: When performed by fully trained and licensed professionals, it is very safe. Also, there are often fewer side effects compared to traditional medicine.

Q: Does acupuncture hurt?

A: Acupuncture needles are typically not much thicker than a hair, and their insertion is practically painless.

Q: How many treatments will I need?

A: This will depend on the duration, severity, and nature of your complaint. You can discuss this with your acupuncturist.

Q: What should I do before treatment?

A: Wear loose-fitting clothes, stay hydrated, avoid intense exercise, and avoid treatment when you are excessively fatigued, full, hungry, emotionally upset, or shortly after sex.

Q:What can I expect after treatment?

A: Some patients often experience dramatic results after the first treatment. Others notice a major reduction in symptoms several days post-treatment.
